Jenn Todryk’s Antibodies Dropped from 5,000 to 257 — And She’s Finally Talking About It

Between the happy walkthroughs of newly renovated living rooms and the before-and-after photos, Jenn Todryk quietly rose to prominence as one of HGTV’s most genuinely endearing celebrities. Not because she was the most polished or dramatic about a blown budget, but rather because she appeared to be a real person, which is uncommon on cable renovation television. A Texas mother with a disorganized home, a dry sense of humor, and the belief that beauty can be created without demolishing everything. From 2021 to 2023, No Demo Reno ran for three seasons. Then she turned to leave. And three years later, people continue to pay attention.

This week, Todryk gave a thorough update on her ongoing struggle with Hashimoto’s disease, an autoimmune condition that has affected her life for almost ten years. This was something that her two million Instagram followers had been secretly interested in. In 2014, she was initially diagnosed with hypothyroidism; in 2017, she was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease. Todryk has never pretended that either diagnosis is easy to accept.

The numbers in this week’s update were what really stood out. In October 2025, a blood test revealed that her antibody count was 5,000. She stated clearly that the number should be zero in order to put that in perspective. A person may register 20 or 35 if they have a mild case of Hashimoto’s. Todryk was seated at 5,000. “Not to brag, but I’m really bad” is exactly the kind of wry self-awareness that makes her so endearing.

She was taking almost twenty different supplements to treat the condition at that point in October, which sounds like a lot to keep up with, let alone monitor. She felt like she might be heading toward hyperthyroidism, which can occur in complicated cases of Hashimoto’s, as the holidays drew near. So she made things simpler. dramatically. She reduced her repertoire to just two items: a drinkable supplement she co-created called Glow by Beam and a hormone pill she had been using for years.

It appears that the outcomes were noteworthy. The antibody count in her most recent blood work was 257, which is still not zero but a remarkable decrease from 5,000. Although the long-term sustainability of the improvement is still unknown, the numbers are currently trending in the right direction, and Todryk shared all of this information with the casual candor her audience has grown accustomed to.

The health update comes amid a larger public discussion about Todryk’s reasons for initially stepping away from television. The final episodes of No Demo Reno aired in 2023, and for a while the silence surrounding the program led to the typical conjecture: cancelled, burned out, behind-the-scenes drama. According to her, the truth is more subdued than any of those justifications.

She decided to go. She specifically decided to move out because she didn’t want their house to feel like a set for a production and because her kids, Von, Berkley, and Vivienne, were growing up quickly. In a field where hosts frequently stick with their platforms well past the point of personal expense, there is something remarkably open about that logic. In contrast, Todryk appears to have read the situation clearly and taken a step back before it cost her something from which she would never be able to recover.

She has also been open about the move’s more disturbing motivation. Early 2025 reports revealed a detail that is rarely mentioned in the renovation-show story: a terrifying encounter with a fan that ultimately forced the Todryk family to relocate. The “I wanted more time with my kids” explanation can be reframed by something like that. Both could be true at the same time. There are risks associated with a television career that aren’t always discussed in public, especially if it involves showcasing your real house.

Noteworthy is what Todryk has created outside of HGTV. She co-founded Armor Coffee and Armor Brewing Co. with her husband Mike, businesses that seem like logical continuations of the grounded Texas sensibility she has consistently projected. The television career was preceded by the ongoing Rambling Redhead blog. Despite the lack of new episodes to keep her audience interested, her social media presence has not diminished, as evidenced by her 2 million Instagram followers. It really is difficult to create that level of loyalty.

It’s difficult to ignore the fact that Todryk’s career path deviates from the norm for reality TV, where the objective is typically to remain on air for as long as the network will have you. She entered, produced three excellent seasons of television, kept a cordial relationship with HGTV, and departed while still having the option to do so. According to her, the door is still open, HGTV has offered support, and a return is feasible whenever circumstances permit. The fact that she has the option on her own terms seems more significant than whether or not that occurs.

Jenn Todryk, who is 37 years old, manages a chronic autoimmune condition, raises three children, runs businesses with her husband, and still finds time to share candid health updates on her Instagram Stories. She doesn’t appear to have given up on a career, but rather to have simply chosen what she wanted to do. It appears that she has a deep-seated renovation instinct; she has just been using it in areas that are less obvious to a camera crew.

    About

Private Therapy Clinics is an independent online magazine covering therapy, mental health, and wellbeing across the United Kingdom. We are not a clinic, and we do not provide medical or therapeutic services. What we do instead is tell the stories of an industry that rarely tells its own.
The world of private healthcare in Britain is famously discreet. It operates behind frosted glass and understated brass plaques, from Harley Street consulting rooms to residential retreats in the countryside. Yet demand for these services has never been higher. NHS waiting lists have grown, conversations about mental health have moved into the open, and more people than ever are weighing up private care for the first time — often with very little independent information to guide them.
