On a weekday morning, the first thing you see when you enter the Upper Arlington location on Arlington Centre Boulevard is not a consultation desk or a surgical suite. It’s a coffee shop. A free one, nestled in a lobby that resembles a boutique hotel rather than a medical office, with two distinct waiting areas, natural light, and upstairs check-in. It’s a minor detail, but the true story often lies in the little things.

Columbus Aesthetic & Plastic Surgery, or CAPS for short, has spent years cultivating a reputation that feels earned rather than marketed, something that is truly difficult to duplicate in a medical setting. The Upper Arlington flagship alone has received over 1,600 reviews with a 4.9-star rating, making the numbers hard to ignore. That would satisfy the majority of clinics. In any case, CAPS opened a fourth location, Bridge Park in Dublin, where new patients can receive a $100 discount on their first visit.

It seems that the practice recognized early on that people want a trustworthy experience rather than just procedures. An excellent illustration of that way of thinking is the choice to add a board-certified dermatologist to the permanent staff. For clinical skin conditions, the majority of plastic surgery practices refer patients. For patients switching between surgical and non-surgical care, CAPS manages it internally, ensuring continuity. To be honest, it’s practical. In this industry, it’s probably long overdue.

Seven board-certified plastic surgeons make up the practice’s surgeon roster, which gives it a range that smaller Columbus rivals just cannot match. Reviews from patients mention doctors like Dr. Sbrocchi with genuine warmth, pointing out that he listened intently before making recommendations. That sounds simplistic. It seems to be less common than it ought to be. He listened, he asked questions, and the outcomes were what the patient desired, according to one review. When you remove everything else, that might be the whole secret.

Naturally, not every review is a five-star recommendation. A few patients have reported negative experiences, such as Botox-related bruises and dismissive staff interactions. A practice with 1,600 reviews will always have some friction in the record, so it’s important to acknowledge that. Notably, the practice has continued to grow in spite of the critical reviews, which appear to be anomalies rather than a trend.

Breast augmentation, lifts, tummy tucks, facelifts, NeoGraft hair restoration, BBL, microneedling, permanent makeup, body contouring, and a comprehensive wellness center are just a few of the many services offered. The availability of financing is important in a city where a large percentage of the population still aspires to cosmetic procedures. As the Dublin location settles in, it will be worthwhile to observe whether that breadth indicates confidence or overreach.

As this practice expands to four locations in the Columbus area, it’s difficult to avoid thinking that CAPS is placing a calculated wager that patients in the Midwest want top-notch cosmetic care without having to travel to Chicago or New York to get it. The reviews thus far indicate that they may be correct.
